The agreement between you and Mustard governing use of our platform.
Mustard Terms of Service.
1. About Mustard
Mustard is a technology platform that provides access to cross-border payment infrastructure, virtual multicurrency accounts, and stablecoin-powered settlement services. Mustard is not a bank. Mustard does not hold a banking licence and does not itself provide regulated financial services. The financial services accessible through the Mustard platform - including account issuance, currency conversion, and payment settlement - are provided by licensed and regulated third-party financial service providers.
2. Eligibility
To use the Mustard platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction
- Not be located in, or a national of, a country subject to comprehensive international sanctions
- Not be a Politically Exposed Person (PEP) without prior disclosure and approval
- Complete Mustard's identity verification (KYC) process to the satisfaction of our compliance team
Business accounts
Business accounts must additionally satisfy our KYB (Know Your Business) requirements, including provision of corporate registration documents, beneficial ownership information, and director identification.
3. Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at security@mustard.finance if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Mustard reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe that your account has been compromised, is being used for fraudulent purposes, or that you are in breach of these Terms.
4. Permitted Use
The Mustard platform may be used for:
- Receiving international payments into your virtual multicurrency accounts
- Sending payments to recipients in supported corridors
- Holding balances in supported currencies pending transfer or conversion
- Converting between supported currencies at disclosed rates
4.1 Prohibited Uses
You must not use the Mustard platform for:
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, or any activity that violates applicable AML/CFT law
- Transactions involving sanctioned individuals, entities, or jurisdictions
- Fraud, deception, or misrepresentation of the purpose of any transaction
- Circumventing exchange controls or other applicable regulatory requirements
- Any activity that is illegal in your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of the recipient
- Payments related to weapons, narcotics, gambling, or other prohibited categories
Transaction monitoring
Mustard monitors transactions for prohibited activity. Accounts found to be in violation will be suspended and, where required, reported to relevant authorities.
5. Fees and Exchange Rates
Mustard charges a transaction fee for each outbound payment, which will be disclosed to you before you confirm the transaction. The exchange rate applicable to your transaction is locked at the time of confirmation and will not change after that point.
Mustard does not charge fees for receiving inbound payments, holding balances, or maintaining an account. Volume pricing arrangements for businesses may be agreed separately in writing.
Fees are subject to change. We will provide at least 14 days' notice before any change to our standard fee structure.
6. Transaction Processing and Settlement
Mustard will use commercially reasonable efforts to settle transactions within the timeframes indicated at the time of initiation. Mustard does not guarantee settlement times, as these are subject to factors outside our direct control, including the processing times of recipient banks and our licensed settlement partners.
Once a transaction has been confirmed and initiated, it cannot be cancelled or recalled unless the recipient bank has not yet received the funds and a reversal is possible at the settlement partner level. Reversal requests must be submitted within 2 hours of initiation and are not guaranteed.
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property in the Mustard platform, including the software, design, brand assets, and content, is owned by or licensed to Mustard. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Mustard platform.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mustard's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to your use of the platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to Mustard in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Mustard shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption - even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Mustard's liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Suspension and Termination
Mustard reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time and without prior notice if:
- You are in material breach of these Terms
- We are required to do so by applicable law or regulatory authority
- We reasonably suspect fraudulent, illegal, or suspicious activity on your account
- You fail to maintain a satisfactory compliance status under our KYC/KYB obligations

You may close your account at any time by contacting agent@mustard.trade. Upon closure, any remaining balance will be returned to you, subject to completion of applicable compliance checks and deduction of any outstanding fees.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
11. Changes to These Terms
Mustard reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email or in-platform notification. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
